RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The Department of Public Instruction is encouraging educators to look at the latest round of web highlights from the agency. All can be found at ncpublicschools.org.

They are:


1. Schoolnet Guide Shows Teachers How to Share Instructional Resources
Teachers, do you have some great instructional content that you would like to share on Schoolnet? A guide that outlines steps to reviewing, selecting and sharing material on Schoolnet has been added to the Home Base website. A video version of the guide is also available.  2. Exceptional Children Division Updates
-Public Meetings Scheduled for Proposed Policy Amendments

The NCDPI Exceptional Children Division will hold five public meetings to receive comments regarding proposed amendments to specific sections that define, evaluate and identify Specific Learning Disabilities to the Policies Governing Services for Children with Disabilities. -EC Institute Scheduled March 10-11

Information for the 2015 Exceptional Children Institute in March is now available at  http://ec.ncpublicschools.gov/conferences-profdev/march-institute/. Materials include registration forms for the institute and pre-sessions, agenda, and more.

 -Resources for PRC-29 Forms now Online

Resources to help Exceptional Children staff complete mid-year forms for PRC-29 funding have been added to the Exceptional Children website at  http://ec.ncpublicschools.gov/instructional-resources/behavior-support/interventions. Mid-year materials include: student information and services intervention forms, request for funds, tips for completing PRC 29 forms, intervention definitions, and more.

 
3. Spring Workshops Scheduled for NC Holocaust Council

The NC Holocaust Council has published dates for its spring teacher workshops at  http://www.ncpublicschools.org/holocaust-council/workshops/. The one-day workshops feature speakers who provide an overview of the holocaust and first-hand accounts of life as holocaust survivors. Resources to assist teachers in curriculum planning are included in the workshop.

4. Updated Publishers Registry on the Web

An updated Publishers Registry has been added to the Textbook Adoption website at    http://www.ncpublicschools.org/textbook/publishers/registry/. Publishers who would like to be added to the Registry should complete the North Carolina Publishers Registry form also available on the Textbook Adoption website.
