RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Work on biomaterials and environmental toxicology earned two NC State researchers Fulbright Scholar grants for the 2014-15 academic year, according to the NC State University news office.

Environmental scientist David Buchwalter and biomedical engineer Roger Narayan are the recipients. The Fulbright program attracts 800 U.S. faculty to 140 countries each year to lecture and research.

Buchwalter plans to visit New Zealand in February to collaborate with stream ecologists at the University of Otago on a study documenting the potential risks of the pesticide imidacloprid on stream fauna.

Narayan completed his Fulbright project at the Institute of Chemistry at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil, where he lectured, taught a graduate course on biomaterials and collaborated on joint research activities.
