1. Dr. Atkinson Discusses Success of Give Five - Read Five in Latest Blog Post

 

In her blog post for July 15, State Superintendent June Atkinson highlights the success of the Give Five - Read Five campaign by sharing a letter from Libby Bowes, team leader for the Give Five - Read Five campaign for her church in Garner. Libby's group collected and distributed 27,000 books to teachers from eight area schools. Statewide, the Give Five - Read Five campaign provided 277, 334 books this year, double the amount of books collected last year. 2. Child Nutrition Agreements Page Updated with 2014-15 Material

 

The Agreements page for the Child Nutrition website has been updated with material for 2014-15. Also included with the agreements are lists of helpful hints. The updated agreements and helpful hints documents are available at  http://childnutrition.ncpublicschools.gov/agreements.

5. NC Supports Military Children Website Features Educational Support Resources

 

North Carolina is home to the third largest military population in the U.S., including over 59,000 school-age children of active duty military, Guard and Reserves.
