According to the Department of Public Instruction, the survey is designed to gather a variety of information from teachers, counselors, principals and other administrators.

 

Information is being sounght on school facilities and resources, time, empowerment, school leadership, community support, student conduct, professional development, mentoring and induction services, and student learning. 

 

The web-based survey is voluntary, anonymous and confidential. 

 

"Results from past years' NC TWC Surveys have provided education policymakers and school leaders a robust roadmap to guide positive change and strengthen professional development, school improvement plans and teacher and administrator evaluations," said State Superintendent June Atkinson in a statement.

 

The results are one component of the on-going process for collaborative school and district improvement plans and also are used in North Carolina's educator and administrator evaluation processes.
