Hearings Scheduled On Proposed Amendments For Services For Kids With Disabilities PDF Print E-mail

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The public will have the opportunity to comment on proposed amendments to rules governing services for kids with disabilities at two hearings to be hosted by the Department of Public Instruction.

 
The Exceptional Children Division will receive comments about possible changes to specific sections of Policies Governing Services for Children with Disabilities pursuant to Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA).
 
Staff will be on hand only to receive comments, not to discuss the proposals. Advanced registration is not required of those who wish to address the staff. Comments will be accepted from March 1 through April 3.

The amendments to the North Carolina Policies are available for review until April 15. The amendments may be reviewed in person at the Department of Public Instruction's Exceptional Children Division in Raleigh. Or, they can be viewed online at www.ncpublicschools.org/publicnotices.
