| Duke University Hospital Receives Federal Assistance To Train Advanced Practice Registered Nursing Students |

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Duke University Hospital in Durham is one of five hospitals around the United States chosen by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to receive federal funding to help train more primary care providers.
The goal of the Graduate Nurse Education Demonstration is to foster advanced skills in primary care, preventive care, transitional care, chronic care management, and other services appropriate for Medicare beneficiaries.
Joining Duke in the special program are the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the Scottsdale Healthcare Medical Center, Rush University Medical Center, and Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center Hospital.
According to the CMS announcement, the federal agency will provide reimbursement for the reasonable cost of providing clinical training to the students added as a result of the demonstration.
Payments to the participating hospitals will be linked directly to the number of additional students the hospitals and their partnering entities are able to train as a result of their participation.
